Lip sync

WEEK 3

Another easy to follow tutorial : http://mojo.csd.anglia.ac.uk/moodle/mod/resource/view.php?id=704

  • Create your Character with seperate layers; face, eyes and mouth elements in the time line screen.
  • Create 8 children elements under mouth layer in the Exposure sheet.
    Call the eight elements A,B,C,D,E,F,G,X.
  • Click on sound+ and import your sound file.
  • Go to timeline, click with your right mouse-button on the first sound frame, and click on edit sound.
  • Click on the window and click on lip sync (try to move the red bar in order or click within the sound element window to activate the lip sync button).
  • Click on the sound again with your right mouse-button, and click on modify lip sync mapping. You see the eight lips (not yours). Select mouth as the destination element. Click on OK.
  • You need to extend the nose, eyes and face frames to match the sound file.

I found a sound file of Cartman (from Sout Park) singing, I drew this man, but I chose to just animate his mouth, It turned out ok.
